Over time, this muscle activity can cause severe creases on our skin’s surface, making us look older than we would like. One area of the face that can show deep lines pretty early in life is the area between our eyebrows. These lines are referred to as frown lines. Frown lines can be bothersome and unappealing. Dysport® is specifically formulated to treat frown lines and temporarily reduce their appearance for up to 5 months. How long does it take Dysport® to work?

Though results vary, there is typically a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the brows within 2-3 days.1-3*

How long does Dysport® last?

One treatment of Dysport® can last for up to 4 months,† so the effect of repeat treatment with Dysport® may be comparable to the first use.

†GL-1 and GL-3 evaluated subjects for at least 150 days following treatment. Based on investigator assessment, response was maintained for up to 4 months in both GL-1 (Dysport 24/105 [23%], Placebo 2/53 [4%]) and GL-3 (Dysport 58/200 [29%], Placebo 1/100 [1%]).2-4

How long does it take to administer?

Although office visits can vary, the procedure generally takes 10 to 20 minutes.

What are Dysport® injections?

Administered by a licensed healthcare professional, Dysport® is supplied as a single-use, sterile 300-unit vial. The dose of Dysport® for the treatment of glabellar lines (frown lines between your eyebrows) is a total of 50 units injected equally among the specific muscles. The dose of Dysport® is not the same as the dose of any other botulinum toxin product and cannot be compared to the dosage of any other botulinum toxin product that you may have previously used.

Is Dysport® different from BOTOX® Cosmetic?

Dysport® and Botox are both made from botulinum toxin type A. All botulinum toxins have the same mechanism of action: blocking the release of acetylcholine (ACh) and preventing the muscles from contracting to maintain the aesthetic effect. However, the dose of Dysport® is not the same as the dose of any other botulinum toxin product and cannot be compared to the dosage of any other botulinum toxin product that you may have previously used.

How Dysport® Works?

Dysport® is a prescription injection that delivers natural-looking results and has been shown to help smooth the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines that appear between the eyebrows. It does this by using botulinum neurotoxin to temporarily reduce the muscle activity causing these types of frown lines. It does not change the look and movement of the rest of your face.
